Muryōkō-in Temple Site

Once a 12th century temple established by Fujiwara-no-Hidehira, now only the earthworks and foundations remain at this historical park. The design of the temple replicated the Pheonix Hall atByodo-in Temple in Kyoto, attempting to capture an image of paradise, and was built aligned with Mt. Kinkeisan to the west such that the setting sun would align with both their peaks.
